In 2020, all rules surrounding Black Friday went out the window. Because of the pandemic, Amazon’s Prime Day got pushed back to October, which had a domino effect and essentially started Black Friday in October, too.

Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving (it’s on Nov. 26 in 2021), but in 2020 Walmart treated the entire month of November as Black Friday, running three sales events throughout the month. Though Prime Day was in June this year, we can expect Walmart to drop deals early again.

Some of our favorite deals from Black Friday 2020 at Walmart include AirPods Pro at their lowest price ever and Instant Pots for less than $50, so we’re expecting deals of the same caliber in 2021. In fact, there’s already a huge discount on AirPods Max, Apple’s over-ear headphones, at Walmart — you can save $100.

In 2021, you’ll probably do most of your Black Friday shopping online. Like last year, Walmart will not open its doors at brick at mortar store locations on Thanksgiving. Walmart stores will be open on Black Friday, but if you want to get ahead of the deals, Walmart.com is where it’s at.

Shopping early is a good idea anyway — we’re still seeing pandemic-related supply chain shortages and shipping delays. So, if your Black Friday shopping plan includes buying gifts for the holidays, start shopping as soon as those online deals hit.
