Key Pieces: That white cable knit quilted jacket with the matching pants … wouldn’t you want to emerge from quarantine looking like a swaggy cherub?
Editor’s Notes: TOMBOGO might not be a household name yet, but it soon will be. Even people who aren’t in the know have definitely seen some of Tommy Bogo’s cozy designs on the likes of J Balvin, Kehlani, and Freddie Gibbs. For his New York Fashion Week debut, Bogo presents “Lost & Found.”
The Fall/Winter ’21 collection is all about technical timeless pieces that translate into enviably cozy fits regardless how they’re mixed and matched or who’s wearing them. In a way, anyone can find themselves in the collection, which is what “Lost & Found” is all about. Fittingly the lookbook, a snapshot of the NYFW presentation, features an eclectic mix of young creatives like musicians Duckwrth and Saba, Euphoria star Angus Cloud, and designer Kristopher Kites.
The collection pulls inspiration from the designer’s travels and features upcycled materials from both the East and West coasts from draperies, fabric, and carpet stores. The influence is apparent in some of the vintage silhouettes and military references.
“[The collection embodies] my recent journey during a time in which we have all been in search of stability and sustainability in life,” designer Tommy Bogo explains. “This collection is a tangible representation of my transitions throughout the year and my meaning in life. There is a worn-in familiarity of comfort in every article while also reappropriating its function within our world. “Lost & Found” AW21 is just as much about soul searching as it is about finding it where you always knew it would be.”
