Watch Megan Thee Stallion’s Spicy NPR Tiny Desk Concert Performance

NPR’s famous Tiny Desk Concert has been graced by the likes of Summer Walker, Burna Boy and Blood Orange this year alone, and now the fiery Megan Thee Stallion is the latest to join the elite ranks of the musical series. The rapper’s unabashed performance — which was originally live-streamed in October as a part of NPR’s first-ever Tiny Desk Fest — covered some of her biggest hits since she’s catapulted to fame, taking the crowd through jams such as «Big Ole Freak,» «Cash S***,» and one of her more recent singles, «Hot Girl Summer.»

In addition to headlining such an esteemed platform, this also marks Megan’s first time performing with a live band in public. She was assisted by the jazz and funk-tinged, Brooklyn-based group Phony Ppl, which consists of Elbee Thrie (vocal, percussion), Elijah Rawk (guitar), Maffyuu (drums), Aja Grant (keys), Bari Bass (bass) and Ebony Joi (vocals). Alongside some of Megan’s selects from Fever, which was released in May, the artist also treated the crowd to sounds from her 2018 Tina Snow EP, opting for a lively rendition of «Freak Nasty.»

Megan even surprised fans by debuting an unreleased track. Shortly before closing out her set, she premiered a new song called «F*****’ Around.» featuring Phony Ppl themselves. View the entire NPR set above.

Elsewhere for Megan, she recently joined the star-studded soundtrack for Queen & Slim with her single «Ride or Die» featuring VickeeLo that released in October. The duo followed up with a sultry music video last month.
