Studio Ghibli Will Finally Make Full Catalogue Available for Digital Purchase

After years of holding out, Studio Ghibli will finally make its full library of films available digitally. All of its films, save for The Wind Rises, will be available for purchase December 17 on all major platforms in North America. This marks the first time any Studio Ghibli films will be available for digital purchase anywhere in the world.

Each film will cost $20, but you can buy Ghibli’s six most popular — Howl’s Moving CastleKiki’s Delivery ServiceMy Neighbor TotoroPonyoPrincess Mononoke, and Spirited Away — as a bundle for $100. The Wind Rises will become available to purchase during the third quarter of 2020.

HBO Max, which launches in May 2020, also announced it’ll stream 21 Studio Ghibli flicks.
