For the uninitiated, The Frame TVs all feature a unique ambient “Art Mode” that displays paintings and photos when their QLED screen is not in use, so you’re not just staring at a boring black rectangle when your TV is switched off. (A bunch of pieces come pre-loaded onto the TV; for more variety, you can either subscribe to Samsung’s Art Store for a selection of 1,400-plus works, or upload your own pieces with your phone or a USB flash drive.)
Samsung first launched the line in 2017 but gave it a in early 2021, making it about 50 percent thinner than the previous iteration to “[mirror] the depth of a traditional picture frame” and adding more customizable bezel options (sold separately). Coolest of all, the new 43-inch model lets you switch between portrait and landscape mode for showing off vertical photos (or, you know, ) — a feature previously exclusive to the original 32-inch The Frame and the 43-inch , Samsung’s first rotating TV from way back in 2019.
