NBA media week is here. That means fans get their first look at the newly-built rosters of their favorite teams, number changes are officially revealed, and — most importantly for sneakerheads — players lace up their finest kicks for the photoshoots.

This year’s media day saw more NBA players than usual bring out grail-worthy sneakers for the photoshoot. Alongside the usual suspects in P.J. Tucker, LeBron James, KD, and Steph Curry, players such as Zach Lavine, De’Aaron Fox, Lonzo Ball, and many more truly put a lot of effort into dressing from the ground up.

Not only is it cool to see rare and underappreciated sneakers on the feet of NBA players off the courts, seeing all the heat on show has got us hyped for the upcoming NBA season. Some players, such as the aforementioned LBJ, KD, and Curry obviously wore their own signature sneakers. Others opted for forgotten retro releases (we’re looking at you, Tucker) or the latest mainline kicks from the biggest sportswear brands.

Interestingly, there were a lot of Kobes on foot, as the younger generation is still very much paying their respects to the late NBA legend. Kobe Bryant’s signature sneakers were always one of the most popular performance basketball shoes among NBA players, and it doesn’t look like things have changed.
