Tropical weather calls for tropical colors – those bold, expressive, mysterious, fresh, blooming colors we find everywhere around us. Purple is making a comeback – on our streets, in our plates, to our living rooms.

Although smooth shades of pink have been very present in interior design for the past few years, something as vibrant as purple doesn’t make the cut so often. Gentle pink seemed much easier to fit into our spaces, and the vibe it brought to the place was calming and peaceful – not what we’ll see with the purple in the following years.
Not only is this color getting back to the throne with strong impressions, but it is also coming back with crazy and intense collaborations. Purple we will be seeing from now on is dramatic, futuristic, and loves to be combined with alike colors – all the shades of pink, and even dark cherry moments here and there. This purple also likes to walk the line between pink and orange, tempting our senses and lifestyles.
It is predictable that purple will take over most roles which belonged to pink so far, including special occasions design. Wedding designers will have their plates full of tasty details of purple in the white and silver decor, while beautiful purple flowers can take the attention of the guests in split second.
Purple can also bring a certain something to the bedroom. If you are thinking about redecorating, don’t take purple too seriously – as in wall paint or the color of your closet. This princess among colors deserves a special treatment, which is why it works best if you add it as details in white and pink surroundings. For example, don’t repaint the wall in your bedroom purple – just buy the sheets with purple details. This works whether the design is flowery or not – purple will give a new urban sense to your life rhythm.
If you are, however, looking for a drastic change, repainting a single wall in your kitchen or dining room will do the trick. This change, however small, will have a dramatic impact on the look of your space, it will freshen it up, and make it a charming, more exciting room to be in.
