BMX superstar and all-around creative
Over the past few years, Sylvester has also built up his personal brand and video series titled “GO.” As part of the Jordan Brand family, his collaborations won’t be limited to product, and will also include different types of content.
Speaking about his joining the Jumpman fam, Sylvester said: “It’s an incredible feeling to be signed as an official athlete of the Jordan Brand family. MJ blazed a trail by constantly striving for greatness and breaking down barriers for athletes from every walk of life. His legacy is one that I’ve looked towards for inspiration throughout my career. It’s surreal to get his co-sign and welcome into such an elite team and family of world-class athletes.”
Sylvester revealed that he watches Michael Jordan highlights before rides, and that the GOAT influenced how Sylvester wore his Air Jordan 1s and inspired the color scheme of some of his bikes.
Sylvester’s Nike Air Jordan 1 collaboration from 2018 quickly became one of the best of the year and has withstood the test of time thanks to its relatively subtle design. It featured distressed detailing, giving “fresh out the box” a whole new spin, as well as a largely white/cream upper. The BMX star has had a relationship with Nike since 2005, with this Jordan Brand deal representing the next step.
There’s no word on what Sylvester and Jordan Brand’s next collaboration might be, though we’ll certainly keep our eyes peeled. In the meantime, read the full interview with Sylvester on
