The Met Gala is back! Not that you or I will ever be going, but it’s one of those “nature is healing” kinda moments, at least, representing the normalization of New York.

From the fake seating chart drama to the celeb hosts, there’s much to be excited about. The theme for the night is “In America,” inspired by the forthcoming “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion” exhibit, so expect plenty of American designers and riffs on the motif.

We’re breaking down and serving up some of the night’s best and wildest fits, so keep checking back here as we update through the night.

Maloney’s ‘fit speaks for itself, and quite loudly too. This is the Met Gala, dress big!

Comprising pieces from Haider Ackermann, Rick Owens, and more, Timothée’s baggy piecemeal suit is very much a cozy ‘fit, complete with Chucks and pops of silver jewelry.

Now this is American fashion! Fringed suede jacket, cowboy hat, this is the good stuff, courtesy of Bode and Cartier.

America’s inaugural poet and Met Gala co-chair Amanda Gorman is a Vera Wang girl tonight, dressed in rich Democrat blue.

Finally, some theatrics. The Schitt’s Creek star serves a major LOEWE ‘fit worthy of fashion’s biggest night out.

Channeling Kanye, our favorite neon-haired skater is almost unrecognizable in a spiked Thom Browne mask and suit.

Marilyn Monroe be damned, Billie Eilish is selling a new vision of American glamour, courtesy of Oscar de la Renta.

The king of the red carpet delivers yet again, shedding a massive golden cape for a golden suit of armor and then a flashy bodysuit by Versace.

Another of tonight’s Gala co-chairs, the tennis champion channels her Haitian-Japanese roots in custom Nicolas Ghesquière for Louis Vuitton.

Nailing tonight’s theme, Chance The Rapper wears a collegiate-inspired Ralph Lauren suit.

Our tennis queen brings the drama in a fluffy feather cape and lace bodysuit.

The Fear of God founder brings refined comfort to the red carpet in sweatpants and California clogs.

The, uh, eccentric artist took inspiration from Dune when conceiving of this eye-catching Iris Van Herpen ensemble. And because this is Grimes, peep the sword and silver mask.

Runway icon Iman is a fluffy, gilded vision in British-American designer Harris Reed.

In oversized Balenciaga gear and sneakers, Elliot Page makes the black suit look cool.

We definitely do not say “neigh” to Kim Petras reppin’ horse girls in custom Collina Strada.
