The Gucci Aria campaign captures the revolutionary and joyous momentum of eros as a creative force in contemporary images. Photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott were selected to take the images, with the creative direction of Alessandro Michele. Underlining an aesthetic that connects mind and body, the models read works or essays on desire, such as “Simulacra and Simulation” by Jean Baudrillard, “The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction” by Walter Benjamin, “Bodies that Matter” by Judith Butler, “Three Contributions to the Sexual Theory” by Sigmund Freud and “Sexistance” by Jean-Luc Nancy.
