has released the full-length trailer for its newest animated series: Invincible. Co-created by — who’s also responsible for — Invincible is based off Kirkman’s comic book of the same name and follows the story of Mark Grayson, the teenage son of the world’s most powerful hero Omni-Man.
Essentially a classic coming-of-age tale with superpowers, Invincible follows Mark Grayson as he learns to control the powers he’s inherited from his father. Grayson also battles villains, joins a group full of superhero friends and learns his father has a dark secret that could put his legacy at risk. voices Grayson, while J.K. Simmons provides the voice of Omni-Man. Invincible also features the voices of , , , Zachary Quinto and Sandra Oh.
The series will stick closely to Kirkman’s original comic book story line, and, as it’s aimed at adults, will include bloody fights. “If you’ve been reading the comic book series, you’re going to get everything you’ve been expecting or wanting,” Kirkman said during a virtual event at New York . “But we’re changing some characters, we’re expanding some roles, we’re putting a little bit of spice in there to keep you guys guessing.”
Look for the first three hour-long episodes of Invincible to begin streaming on Amazon Prime Video come March 26. The remaining five episodes will release one by one on each following Friday, with the season finale arriving April 30.
