SAVE $39.01: Set for a Sept. 24 release, the all-new iPad mini (64GB, WiFi) is on sale on Amazon for just $459.99 as of Sept. 21 — shave 8% off its $499 MSRP when you pre-order it.

There’s no time for a verbose intro with this one, so let’s get right to it: The brand new iPad mini is already on sale on Amazon, and it’s probably going to sell out (just like it did at Walmart).

As of Sept. 21, you could pre-order the 64GB base model there in a new “starlight” finish for just $459.99. That’s 8% off its suggested retail price of $499, and its first discount since a surprise debut at last week’s iPhone 13 event.

At 8.3 inches, this is still the smallest tablet Apple sells.

To recap, this marks the first true update of Apple’s most portable (and arguably cutest) tablet in a good nine years. Was it worth the wait? All signs point to “yes” so far: It’s got a sleeker all-screen design with an 8.3-inch Retina display, a faster A15 Bionic chip, 5G connectivity, and Apple Pencil support, with advanced cameras featuring Center Stage to top it all off. (It’s basically an iPad mini Pro, wrote senior editor Stan Schroeder).

The only glaring omission from its spec lineup is a headphone jack, which you can work around by grabbing some wireless headphones, a dongle, or — if you feel that strongly about it — opting for the all-new standard iPad instead. (Announced alongside the mini version, that tablet does have a port for wired audio output.)

Apple has this bad boy scheduled for a Sept. 24 release; you can expect it on your doorstep within two business days after it’s shipped.
