In the past, it’s been suggested by some pundits that Apple release two versions of macOS: a “standard” version and a «pro» version. I’m dubious, but there’s evidence that the tech giant is at least considering this.
The reasoning seems to be that the “standard” version would a streamlined version of macOS that would appeal to fans of iOS and iPadOS. A «pro» version would offer the bells and whistles that “power users» want. Or perhaps there would be just one version of macOS that would allow “pro” features to be enabled or disabled at will.
