The Type S Concept follows the reveal of the second-generation NSX. You can expect the vehicle to heavily influence the upcoming second-generation TLX Type S. According to the automaker, the powerful form of the Type S Concept is characterized by a wide track and low stance, featuring a hood that extends forward from the A-pillars.
“We’ve been dreaming about a new performance-focused Acura concept car since the Precision Concept debuted,” said Dave Marek, Acura’s Executive Creative Director. “The Type S Concept speaks unambiguously to performance and to the essence of Acura design.”
New design elements showcased on the Type S Concept include four-lamp Jewel Eye LED headlights, an open-surface Diamond Pentagon grille, and “Chicane” daytime running lights and taillights. There is a noticeable flow from front to rear on the Type S Concept, as the sharp, intersecting lines suggest the car is changing shape. Forged carbon is utilized on the front and rear splitters, side sills, rear decklid spoiler, and multi-spoke 21-inch wheels, while the 285-series summer tire setup provides unmatched grip no matter the surface.
With its bespoke “Double Apex Blue Pearl” paint job, Acura’s Type S Concept is on display throughout Monterey Car Week. For more on the vehicle, follow
